Pool Party???

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Well ... the next project for the yard is the pool. we did have a fairly large above ground but had to downsize for the city government. So now we have a smaller one that the kids will enjoy a bit more than the adults. Still have to build a fence around it and then I can fill it with water (will only take a day) and we will be able to swim. I will post some pictures as soon as i buy the fencing today.

So it's been a while since I posted about my garden. Things are going really well. I have Dahlias that have started to open and they are beautiful. Big, yellow, and the size of dinner plates. Pretty cool.
Also you can see that the play structure that we created for the kids is completed. They love it.

The garden is growing nicely. We have tomatoes(3 different kinds cherry, russian heirloom and yellow tomato) , peppers, peas, radish, cilantro, romary, carrot, pumpkin, squash, yellow cucumber, regular cucumber and I am sure I am forgetting something. I will post pictures of the vegi's as soon as they ripen.

Thats all for now I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We have almost completed the bridge and Tim has been working on the roof of the main tower. I have also almost completed the gangplank. we still need to make some windows in the main tower and the bridge will have small windows like they would have on the tower of a castle.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and we will be updating the pictures soon.

Still Working on it---

Monday, April 21, 2008

Well my brother Tim is in town for 2 weeks and is really excited about " using his hands" so I am going to put him to work on the fort. Yesterday he helped hang the door (I would have had a really hard time with it) and we put up the siding on the back and upper story. Here are some pictures of it.

the new addition...a Fort.

Saturday, April 19, 2008

So Liam my son wants a fort for the backyard. I have looked at different forts and playgrounds at the local places but wasn't happy with them. So I scoured the net and came this website : http://www.barbarabutler.com/product/play%20forts/1102695689.html

I kinda went a little crazy and have taken on the project of trying to copy this:

So this is where I am at with our little project:

We are very excited about this and the boys are just going crazy over it. There will be a slide a couple swings cargo net rock climbing wall and bridge going over to the far corner where there will be a tower with a ladder. The slide is going to come off of this tower. We are also going to be putting in a sandbox for the boys. There will be a roof put on the main tower and i think it will extend over to the smaller tower. This will cast some shade over the sand box.

Also I had to take about 3 hours out of my schedule today to go to the walk-in clinic to have Elliott's finger stitched up (3 stitches). the cordless drill slipped and Elliott just happend to put his hand next to the screw at the same time. It wasn't a very good combination.

"New" Backyard

Saturday, April 12, 2008

What fun it is to have a backyard. Before we (I) did all the work to the backyard it was a dirt patch. It was very dirty and hot. Did I mention how hot it is. Anyway here I am going to talk about the different projects in our back (and Front) yards.

We are planning on planting a vegi garden and a play-set for the kids. I am planning on getting the plans...(already have the plans for sets from Home Depot) and building one of my own.
